The City of WaKeeney, KS hired Carrothers Construction Company to be the General Contractor on their new Aquatic Center. Construction began early September 2006 and was open for swimming at the end of May 2007. The aquatic center has several state of the art features; a zero entry pool, tot slide, array of interactive sprays, a crows nest tidal wave dump, and a shade umbrella with concrete seats. In the lap area there is a basketball goal, lap lanes, and an open flume water slide. The masonry bathhouse includes changing and concessions areas. Carrothers is proud to have worked with the City of WaKeeney in building their Aquatic Center.
